Happy New Year!
We’ve successfully traveled around the sun one more time. We survived.
As we close the door on the previous year with reflections on what’s passed, it’s time to look forward. A new year brings new opportunities to think about what we want to improve, experience, eat, or visit. Anyone starting the classic “Hit the gym” resolution? I definitely need it. This beer belly isn’t going to fix itself.
Maybe it’s the result of adding a few more dances around the sun, but I’ve realized something recently: if I want to get things done, I have to write them down. Not just scribble them somewhere, but actually add them to a planner. With a specific time slot.
Now, let me confess—I’ve never been a planner person. I hate planners. They suck the magic out of your everyday life. But, corporate life calls for some structure, I guess? With the limited energy and time I have after work, I need to know what I’ll be doing to get into the right mindset. Couch… we’ll meet later, I promise.

The Battle Station
One thing I’m proud of this holiday season is that I finally cable-managed my workstation. I know, it sounds mundane. But let me explain—my workstation isn’t just any desk. It’s my battle station, my “safe place”, my teenage dream come true.
A great desk loaded with all the gadgets and gear—monitors, shiny keyboard, RGB lights, camera, and so on. But with great gear comes great cable chaos. I’m talking about 168 cables that take 3 to 5 business days to organize.
I had to tackle this mess because it was time for the next iteration of my desk. You know how it is—nothing is ever truly done. It’s a work in progress. With all the moving, removing, and adding of new gear, the cables were dangling everywhere. It was an absolute nightmare to look at. Not to mention… probably a fire hazard.

Rediscovering My Gamer Self
Over the Christmas holidays, I discovered something exciting: I still got it! Ha-ha. Let me explain.
I grew up as a gamer. Video games are a big part of my life—they’ve shaped my personality. But as you might imagine, being an adult with a 9-to-5 job makes long gaming sessions nearly impossible.
So, during my two-week vacation, I indulged in multiple 10-15 hour gaming marathons, and I couldn’t be happier. I finally played The Witcher 3—a game I’ve wanted to dive into for so long. But let’s face it, it’s a loooong game.
I finished the main storyline in about 100 hours during the holidays. Yes, 100 hours! It was worth every minute. The story, the gameplay, the soundtrack—oh my god, the soundtrack. It was everything I’d hoped for. Baby, I’m ready for Witcher 4… even if it’s (maybe) coming in 2027. Sigh.

And I think that’s it for now. My random thoughts are officially depleted. I’ll try to keep these posts coming weekly, so until next time.
Stay safe out there, folks.
Commodore Bo, out.
