Well well well.

Who has been slacking on writing for his blog for a while?
Insert Obi-Wan quote – Of course I know him, he’s me!

And I promise I have at least 3 or 4 excuses. If you’ve read my previous blogs here, you know I’ve been talking a lot about renovation. So yeah, we’ve been remodeling our living room out of nowhere. Quite a funny story actually. The gist of it was that I bought some new furniture – small stuff – but I was a dumbass and measured something completely different, so it couldn’t fit in its place sooo we needed to move a lot of other stuff, so why not renovate EVERYTHING? So that took 1 month.
After that I was quite tired, shockingly, and then summer came so I’ve been touching grass for a while. Then Dune: Awakening was released – if you know, you know. And now… now I’m just too tired and needing vacation, brain not working, we’ve had a brutal heatwave the last couple of days, so nothing is working and here we are. Beginning of July. Every god damn year when the weather smells like cocktails and beach sand, one starts asking himself – why not just quit your job for 3 months to 6 years? Just to recharge. I don’t know about you guys, but I really feel that pretty soon I’m going to burst from only working my office slash home-office web dev job. I need a couple of weeks to take care of myself. If you’re a person who has his shit together, I’m happy for you. A lot of people are like me – way too tired after work to do aaalll the things. Yeah, I can gather my strength to help with making dinner, cook something, clean for a bit. But after that? Yeah, I’m dead. With all my years of experience sitting in front of the computer (heh) this is the only thing I can do after that: watch some YouTube, currently play some Dune, and go to bed. Done-zo.
It’s definitely different during winter time, to be honest. The heat just sucks the energy out of me. Not that during winter I’m doing my exercises, losing weight, getting in shape or all that jazz. Nah nah, but! I feel like I could do it then. I just don’t.

Anywayyyy –
Let’s move to the part that you don’t care about reading, but I care about sharing.
Next week, hopefully, potentially, after 4 years, I’ll be removing my braces and I am extremely excited. Well… not me, but the orthodontist. Don’t get confused or something. After the removal, if I have the confidence, I’ll show you in another post and share the whole journey and how it went. But I am extremely happy with the results already – problems are down 95% now that I have access to all my teeth and can actually clean them. In those 4 years I had one cavity, but in my defense it was on the tooth that’s holding the braces, where the metal ring is. So something got in there. And that’s it. When I think about it, it definitely was a journey – I first started fixing my dental problems almost, I believe, 10 years ago. My body (and wallet) are now ready for a yearly checkup and that’s it.

Other than that news – I’m quite happy about a project I’ve done, which I’m also thinking of turning into an individual tutorial – if you’re interested, I’d love to hear about it. So you know, summer is here (northern hemisphere) and anything that can cool you off, besides the air conditioner, is a welcome addition. So I bought some Chinese trash a couple of years ago, which I was using in places where the air conditioner couldn’t reach – like… the other room that doesn’t have air conditioning in it. Sooo, I broke it. And it got me thinking – I still want a small fan that’s desk-sized, put it on your desk to cool your arm or something, it’s quite cool. Get it? Anyway. So I combined 3D printing, an Arduino Nano, a Noctua fan, a couple of wires and it actually worked. It’s still in “prototype” form – I need to solder it – so I’m thinking when I do that, I’ll actually document the whole process, so if any of you are interested, you can try it for yourself. But this small project was a huge success for me. I’ve wanted to do electronics for so long, and my first project actually working can boost your juices quite a bit. Like, can I do something with an Arduino, a small pump, a bucket of water and some enthusiasm to water your plants? Automatically. In this heat, they also need hydration. Let’s use this reminder – hydrate right now, you muffin! Get your water bottle and splash some water in your mouth. Yes, just like that. Bravo.

And I think this is a good end for this post. I’m also currently working on 2 other posts: one is a Dune: Awakening review, the other is finalizing the last chapter for Mike and Roger (I have not forgotten about it! My brain is not working and I want to finish the story properly). Add my little tutorial for a desk fan to the mix. So 3 posts! It’s good to have a plan, so you know what you should be doing. I know there are people who wait for the universe to serve them something and that’s their focus, but I’m not like that. I need to know what I should be doing – otherwise, I’m not doing shit. Haha. Anywayyyyy

Stay safe out there.

Commodore Bo, out.
